Policies

  1. ACCURATE INFO – By signing this Contract and leaving his or her pet with kennel, Owner certifies to the accuracy of all information given about said pet on Contract. Owner specifically represents that he or she is the sole owner of the pet, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances.
  2. HEALTHY ON CHECK-IN – Owner specifically represents to Kennel that the pet is relatively healthy at check-in and has not been exposed to rabies or distemper within a thirty day period prior to boarding. Owner must notify Kennel of any health issues in writing PRIOR to check-in.
  3. FOOD – The pet hotel provides high quality dry kibble dog food, which is included in the boarding price. Canned food is available at additional charge. You may bring your pet’s food, but it must be prepared as follows: 1) feeding must be separated into individual containers for each meal (baggies). For example, if a dog is boarding two nights, then you must provide 4 meals in separate baggies. 2) If the food is a PRESCRIPTION DIET, then the baggies must be labeled with the Manufacturer and Product names. 3) please provide 1-2 extra meals (in case your dog spills the food or you are late picking up. NOTE: additional meals will not be returned to you at check-out).
  4. BELONGINGS – We have everything your pet needs, including a secure enclosure, food, water, and bedding. Unless your pet has equipment or supplies that are medically necessary, please avoid leaving unnecessary equipment or supplies, as we cannot guarantee that they will be returned and they may be damaged or soiled by pets during boarding.
  5. TOYS – As stated above, we have everything your pet needs. Also, some toys are not safe for boarding pets, as they may become worn during use (like rope toys, that will become frayed and smaller pieces can be ingested, resulting in intestinal problems). We will not accept toys, so please don’t bring them to the pet hotel (including ROPE TOYS, STUFFIES, FABRIC TOYS, ETC).
  6. MEDICATION – If your pet requires medication administration during his or her stay, then only leave the quantity necessary for your pet’s stay, plus 1-2 doses in case of emergency. We are skilled at administering medication and will do our best to ensure that every dose is administered on time. We may be unsuccessful if your pet is aggressive or refuses to consume oral medication wrapped in food product.
  7. RATE – Owner agrees to pay the rate for boarding in effect on the date pet is checked into the pet hotel (as posted in office and/or as indicated on our website).
  8. SERVICES – Owner further agrees to pay all costs and charges for services requested.
  9. PAYMENT – Owner further agrees that the pet shall not leave the kennel until Owner pays all charges to Kennel. For longer-term boarding stays, periodic payments (generally every 2 weeks) must be made on demand, by credit card over the phone, if needed.
  10. DEPOSITS – We reserve the right to collect a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit (usually $50 around holidays) to hold your pet’s boarding reservation. This helps us to better manage the limited boarding slots, minimize late cancellations after we have turned away other pets, and helps us to continue to provide excellent client and pet care services to as many clients and pets as possible. If you do not make a deposit when requested, then the slot will be offered to other clients and ma be unavailable to you.
  11. QUESTIONS AFTER CHECK-OUT – We strive for every pet to go home at least as healthy as when they checked in, so we offer an exam & consultation with our resident veterinarian at NO CHARGE within 7 days after checkout. If you have any concerns, please call us ASAP for an appointment.
  12. LIABILITY – Kennel shall exercise reasonable care for the pet delivered by the Owner to the kennel for boarding, daycare, grooming, and/or other services. It is expressly agreed by Owner (by delivery of the pet) and Kennel (by accepting the pet) that Kennel’s liability shall in no event exceed the lesser of the current chattel value of a pet of the same species or the sum of $200.00 per animal boarded.
  13. EQUIPMENT DAMAGE BY PET – The Owner further agrees to be solely responsible for any and all acts or behavior of said pet while it is in the care of the Kennel.
  14. RISKS OF BOARDING: There are some inherent risks of admission to the pet hotel, which may include, but are not limited to:
  15. INJURY – Eye infection or injury, injuries of broken nails, sore feet, puncture wounds, cuts/lacerations, hot spots, bone fractures, etc. These may be managed by our staff, however veterinary care may be required. We will try to contact you, but will proceed with treatment at our discretion and you agree to pay for any needed services and products before or at checkout.
  16. DISEASE – Transfer of communicable diseases such as K9 Papilloma virus (puppy warts), K9 cough, upper respiratory infection, etc.
  17. NON-PAYMENT – All charges incurred by Owner shall be payable upon pick-up of pet by Owner or person picking up the pet. The Kennel shall have, and is hereby granted, a lien on the pet for any and all unpaid charges resulting from boarding pet at the kennel. The Owner hereby agrees that in the event the boarding charges are not paid when due in accordance with the contract, the Kennel may exercise its lien rights upon ten days written notice given by Kennel to Owner by certified mail to address shown on contract. Kennel may dispose of pet for any and all unpaid charges, at private or public sale, in the sole discretion of the Kennel, and the Owner specifically waives all statutory or legal rights to the contrary. If such sale shall not secure a price adequate to pay such costs of board or other charges delinquent, plus cost of sale, then Owner shall be liable to Kennel for the difference. All monies realized by Kennel at such sale, over and above the charges due and costs of sale, shall be paid by Kennel to Owner. A $40 fee will be added to bounced checks to cover bank & administrative expenses, plus any legal fees.
  18. UNEXPECTED EXPENSES – Occasionally, a pet will have un-diagnosed illness that only becomes symptomatic after check-in, or a pet may injure him or herself (e.g. by self-licking, self-chewing, other). If your pet becomes symptomatic and requires extra care and attention, possibly including veterinary care, then we will try to contact you. If we do not reach you at the contact information we have on file, then we will proceed, at our sole discretion, to do what is best for the health of your pet and engage the services of a veterinarian and/or begin treatment and you will be liable for and additional services provided to your pet.
  19. CONTRACT – This Contract contains the entire agreement between the parties. All terms and conditions of this Contract shall be binding on the heirs, administrators, personal representatives and assigns of the Owner and the Kennel.
  20. ARBITRATION – Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract, or the breach thereof, or as the result of any claim or controversy involving the alleged negligence by any party of this contract, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by an arbitrator may be entered in any Court having jurisdiction thereof. The arbitrator shall, as part of his award, determine an award to the prevailing party of the costs of such arbitration and reasonable attorney’s fees of the prevailing party. Any litigation arising out of this contract, the prevailing party shall be entitled to receive reasonable attorney’s fees and costs.
  21. LITIGATION – Any litigation arising out of this contract, the prevailing party shall be entitled to receive reasonable attorney’s & costs.
  22. OUR GOAL – Our goal is to ensure that pets safely enjoy their stay and go home at least as healthy as when they arrive. Due to circumstances beyond our control, sometime that is not possible, because: pets may become symptomatic while boarding for pre-existing conditions, may injure themselves, may be injured by another pet (e.g. in play time), or may become ill for some other reason. Owner agrees to inspect the pet immediately upon checkout and notify the staff of any problems, so we can do our best to to rectify the situation. If veterinary care is needed, then we offer a no-charge veterinary exam at Sterling Park Animal Hospital within 7 days of boarding checkout and is required if you believe the kennel is liable (limitations of liability are listed in items #5 above).
  23. ENCLOSURE – We have a variety of comfortable enclosure types for various pet types and sizes. Your pet will remain in an enclosure during your pet’s stay, and be brought out only for services that you have requested (play times, grooming services, vaccine services, etc) or to transfer to another enclosure. For various reasons, we may change a pet’s enclosure and/or enclosure type during the stay (for example, flight changes or inclement weather may change when a client is able to arrive for check-in and/or check-out, which may limit enclosure type availability). Although we strive to meet all enclosure type requests, we reserve the right to place or change the enclosure type in which you pet is housed at our sole discretion, and without additional notification. Therefore, we do not promise a specific overnight enclosure type for your pet. If there is a price difference, you will only be charged for the specific enclosure that your pet is in.
  24. Thank you for trusting us with your pet’s care!
